Pink oyster mushrooms, scientifically known as Pleurotus djamor, are a type of tropical mushroom that got distributed throughout the world. It usually grows on trees, forming dense clusters of bright pink color that vary in size, shape and number of caps. It has an elongated, slightly funel-shaped cap and a barely visible small stem.

People often describe the taste of pink oyster mushrooms as similar to shrimp, with a noticeable umami flavor and meaty texture. Just a warning, though: if you plan to try these mushrooms raw, prepare for a sour surprise.
