Branched oysters originate from Ireland and Britain. Their closest relative is the golden oyster, so they resemble them in appearance.
They have a pleasant, non-specific taste that is somewhat reminiscent of seafood. They are excellent sautéed in butter with salt and pepper, but they also complement any soup, sauce, or stir-fried vegetables.
